It is the beginning of Friday and it is too early to tell what kind of day we are going to have. Just wanted to take a few minutes to be thankful for all the little things that we have, Sheila and Shelly are still here with us, and Sabrina has returned as well. It is a holiday again, and we are still having a blast at the party that we had for Gran Madam, who is ninty now. We had the time of our lives and it was a day that we will remember forever.
But enough about that for the moment, we also want to look at Sissy and how she is scared of being away. Just do not know how Nathan can take it any more, all the calls and the heavy on not a party girl, and this is a an expense trip for four years. Not sure if one man with two dead wives can tell a little girl anything. The examples are just not there. And that is where we come in play now, to set the story straight.
Let’s look at Hannah, she was in a small town in Pinedale, Texas for so long, and she had all the attention from her father, and six brothers, and now she is finally on her own. She has been so used to being the center of attention being the seventh kid, of a seventh kid, and the only girl also. She is the one that won the contest to learn how to become a clef at the top school in the country.
She had a full boat solulatship that also came with an internship for the whole time in Harvard if she could keep the grades up. It should not be a problem, and it was not just a matter of being alone anywhere. It was the fact that she was nobody special at the school, and her hair was colored a mixed between snow and white, with a touch of blue. It was a matter of not being notice, is how she wanted to think of it as. We all know it was another way for Hannah to stay in touch with Aunt Pearl.
Her choice of hair color told the story of how much, Aunt Pearl was still the leader or the cause, for Sissy is sunny and pleasant most of the time.
Hannah had been with Pearl every day after school to read to her, and to help her with her networks, by phone and computer. The age differences were never noticed because Pearl had not aged at all beyond 36 years old. And for some reason she was a god send to Hannah when her mother died, when she was so young. It was almost like having Piper still with us after she expired. That is more of the story that we are not going to get into right now. We have to see if we can get Stanley to talk to Nathan, to tell him to do a double take on the situation, and let him know what to expect, while cutting the apron strings, and allow the girl to stand on her own two feet.
Nathan was still stuck on the lost also, and he did not want anything, now it was a matter of time and space. It should be a limited on how many times to call and talk about the clothiers that are being worn, and how cold it is already. My God it was only the end of the year, and it has been months, and the pressures of deadlines for the assignments in the classes should have been enough. Not for Hannah, she still was upset that nobody knew she wanted more ski clothers for Christmas.
Anyway the problem is that Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now New Years was not enough time for the homecomings, and we had to recreate the holidays for the late comers. Sorry was not ready to go there either. So what to do is the question that Nathan has to come up with to do with the sheep again in the spring also.
Was in the process of remembering what it was like to leave home the first time, after high school. For us it was different. We knew that we did not want to pay for school, and we knew that all schools are the same, and it is a matter of time. Time to focus on a line of education of your choice and stick to it for the paper reward, is where we needed to be now. We had been taught that education is the answer and the way out, so we made good grades, and got rewarded with the grants and scholarships that we needed. We all went to the service first with jobs, that we had chosen, and we had been trained by Uncle Sam. It was great and we were able to travel and see the world, and go to school at the same time.
That has not made a lot of sense, to many kids that finish high school, to go to the military and ask to be trained in your desired field. Of course you have to have the brains to fit the bill, and the smarts as well, but it is time, that you can count on later if you need to. Or I should say when you are ready to start learning something new, if you serve in the military it is the best health care that you can get. There are draw backs of course, but for the most part it is great.
